Double-vaccination rates against COVID-19 are still increasing in the Tri-Cities.
According to new data from the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), the entire region currently folds a collective average of 80.4% among eligible residents aged 12 years and older who've received two vaccine doses.
As of this publication (Sept. 2), four of the five surveillance neighbourhoods are at or above 80% individually; Port Coquitlam remains at 79%.
While immunization rates are going up, the rate of confirmed COVID-19 infections is also on a significant rise, likely resulting from the Delta variant.
The new numbers — collected between Aug. 24 and 30 — broken down among the five surveillance neighbourhoods are as follows.

SPECIAL EVENT CLINICS
If you plan on visiting the BC Highland Games in Coquitlam on Saturday (Sept. 4), and are still in need of a COVID-19 vaccine, you'll be in luck.
Fraser Health is setting up a six-hour vaccination station in Lafarge Lake Park for anyone that's eligible to get immunized — no appointment necessary.
It's part of the authority's ongoing efforts to provide convenient locations for those aged 12 and older who need a first or second dose.
No personal health number is required. If you're planning to be inoculated a second time, you're strongly encouraged to bring your vaccination card.
Jabs will be administered between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. as capacity and supplies allow.
As well, Douglas College's second walk-in clinic in one week is scheduled to take place Sept. 8 and is open for post-secondary students, staff and the general public.
It'll take place 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Room B3051.
For those seeking a first dose, you don't need to have a personal health number or be a resident of B.C. as some students may be from outside the province.
Fraser Health says those seeking a second dose will need to have received an invitation through B.C.'s GetVaccinated portal or have waited a minimum of 28 days since the first jab, and are encouraged to bring their immunization card.
