An accountant who previously worked for the city of Burnaby is School District 43's new secretary treasurer.
Mark Ferrari will be responsible for providing leadership and vision in the areas of corporate, financial, facilities and planning services, the district announced Wednesday.
The announcement follows a lengthy search to replace former secretary treasurer Rick Humphreys who left his post by mutual agreement with a severance payout in December.
Ferrari takes on the job as the district deals with the fall-out of $12.1 million cuts made in May to balance this year's operating budget and a forensic audit to find out what led to financial difficulties last year.
