Police are still investigating a late-night shooting last Thursday believed to be related to drugs that left two people injured.
Coquitlam RCMP Cpl. Jamie Chung said the victims are recovering and have been cooperating with the police investigation.
"We have finished processing the crime scene," he said. "We are still talking to some of the witnesses but no arrests have been made. That is as much as I can say right now."
The shooting occurred around 11 p.m. in the 3200-block of Ballenas Court in the New Horizons subdivision (located between Pipeline Road and the Coquitlam River, and south of David Avenue).
Both victims, a man and a woman, were taken by BC Ambulance to Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster. They are both known to police and investigators believe the shooting was a targeted incident and possibly drug-related.
A suspect vehicle was found in the parking lot of the McDonalds on North Road near Austin Avenue in Coquitlam.
Police also said last week that there is no evidence to support a link between this incident and a shooting about a month ago during a backyard barbecue on Delestre Avenue, also in Coquitlam. At the time, the police believed the shooting was targeted but neither the victim nor witnesses co-operated with police.
