Nominate a Community Champion for an award from Coquitlam–Port Coquitlam's MP

The deadline is nearing to nominate a Community Champion for an award.

Coquitlam–Port Coquitlam MP Ron McKinnon is back with his annual program to honour unsung heroes, leaders and volunteers working in the constituency and making the area a better place.

Residents have until July 15 to fill out the online form and provide a short biography of their candidate, as well as offer the reasons why they are worthy of a Community Champion title.

Past recipients include:

  • Richard Dal Monte, former editor of the Tri-City News
  • Robbin Whachell, Hoy-Scott Watershed Society and a passionate environmental steward
  • Ravi Safaya, Steps Together Foundation and the Youth Leadership Society of B.C.
  • Larissa Lapierre, Tri-Cities Female Ice Hockey Association
  • Keegan Gordon, an advocate and activist to improve the lives of firefighters
  • Linda Li, a leader in the Tri-Cities Chinese community
