The Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce is looking for help in finding the best in the business.
Nominations are now open for the 2013 Business Excellence Awards, which recognize outstanding businesses, organizations and individuals that demonstrate excellence in business and a passion for the community.
Nominees will be recognized at an Oct. 30 luncheon at Westwood Plateau; the finalists will be announced in the weeks following the luncheon, with the winners recognized at the chamber's annual gala, set for Feb. 1, 2014 at the Red Robinson Show Theatre at the Boulevard Casino.
Businesses, organizations and individuals can be nominated in the following categories:
Small Business of the Year (won by Innovative Fitness Port Moody in 2012);
Business of the Year, 10 to 50 Employees (won last year by Graytek Solutions);
Business of the Year, 50-plus Employees (won by Kiewit/Flatiron General Partnership in 2012);
Community Spirit Award (given in 2012 to Dave Teixeira of Dave.ca Communications Inc.);
Not-for-Profit of the Year (which went to KidSport Tri-Cities in 2012);
and Business Leader of the Year (won by Deborah Stetz of Coquitlam Centre in 2012).
Anyone who knows of an outstanding Tri-Cities business, organization or individual can submit a nomination for the 2013 Business Excellence Awards. Deadline is Sept. 13 and nomination forms and requirements can be found at tricitieschamber.com/ or at the chamber office, 1209 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam.
