Two Farsi-language networking events are scheduled to take place in Coquitlam March 29 and May 31 to help newcomers connect with the community.

Have you heard of "Tek Talk?"

It's a product of a regional organization as a way to help newcomers adjust to life in Canada, as well as mobilize, empower and engage their social skills.

Specifically for Farsi-speaking residents, Third Bridge Foundation is set to host a pair of networking forums in Coquitlam in helping work professionals connect with others the community.

This includes one session tomorrow night (March 29) and another at the end of May.

It's the latest of more than 150 weekly Tek Talks hosted across Metro Vancouver by Third Bridge.

When the COVID-19 pandemic slowed down, the foundation said it's added weekend parties and picnics for more impactful connections.

Third Bridge is partnering with the Coquitlam Public Library to provide a venue for its next Tek Talks, which are set to include guest speakers from Vancouver.

Ehsan Hemmati, a senior industrial hygienist, is scheduled for Wednesday's talk, while Matin Beheshti, a digital analyst in project management and business development, is slated to present on May 31.

Both Hemmati and Beheshti are 2016 grads of the University of Tehran (Iran).

The Tek Talks will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. each night in room 127 at the library's City Centre branch (1169 Pinetree Way).

Interested participants don't need to register in advance.
