On Our Radar: Spider-Man to swing across Port Coquitlam's outdoor movie screen

Cinema Under the Stars is set for Aug. 28 in Gates Park, and will feature one of the highest grossing films of all-time.

A portal to the multi-verse is opening in Port Coquitlam in two weeks.

On Aug. 28, Gates Park will host the city's latest edition of Cinema Under the Stars — a free family-friendly outdoor movie night featuring a 40-foot screen for all to watch.

And the evening is set to play one of the highest grossing films of all time.

Spider-Man: No Way Home made the most money of any other film in 2021 at $1.901 billion, which is currently the sixth highest worldwide box-office earnings in cinema history.

It's the most successful of any Spider-Man movie ever made and is the third installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's version of the beloved superhero.

But when Peter Parker asks Doctor Strange to alter his reality in amending a mistake, it brings new stakes — and allies — while trying to make things right.

It stars Tom Holland as the title webslinger along side Benedict Cumberbatch and Zendaya.

Interested visitors to Cinema Under the Stars are encouraged to bring a blanket or chairs and to pack your own food for the screening.

Gates Park is also one of 10 in Port Coquitlam where legal-aged adults can responsibly drink alcohol from dawn to dusk, seven days a week.

Port Coquitlam's outdoor showing of Spider-Man: No Way Home will begin at 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 28.
