Tri-Cities WorkBC Centres are hosting a Diverse Abilities Hiring Fair on April 20, 2023, to help those living with disabilities find a job.

More than a dozen employers looking to offer welcoming workplaces for everyone will be featured at a job forum in Coquitlam this month.

Tri-Cities WorkBC Centres is hosting a Diverse Abilities Hiring Fair in an effort to help local job seekers living with disabilities find an opportunity to work and thrive in the community.

The government organization oversees employment services in Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody.

According to its website, the free in-person event is meant to connect "inclusive employers" that are actively hiring with residents "eager to contribute their unique skills to the workforce."

Some of the companies that WorkBC said will be attending the job fair include:

  • ALS Global
  • Amazon
  • Canucks Autism Network
  • City of Vancouver
  • Covenant House Vancouver
  • Fairmont Hotels and Resorts
  • ICBC
  • Royal Bank of Canada (RBC)
  • Starbucks
  • Safeway
  • TD Bank

The Diverse Abilities Hiring Fair is scheduled to take place April 20 at the Evergreen Cultural Centre (1205 Pinetree Way) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
