A large section of Clarke Street in Port Moody will be closed for much of the day on Saturday for repaving.

Crews working on the Evergreen Line will mill, grade and pave Clarke between Moody and Elgin streets between 7 a.m. and midnight.

Drivers will be detoured to Spring and St. Johns streets while the closure, which is weather dependent, is in effect. Several turn restrictions will also be in place, including:

no left turn from Barnet Highway to Clarke;

no left turn from Moody northbound to Clarke westbound;

no right turn from Moody southbound to Clarke eastbound;

and no access to Clarke from Kyle, Mary and Grant streets.

Drivers wishing to access businesses on Clarke Street, between Queens Street and Moody will use Spring Street. Business access between Elgin and Queens will be maintained, with traffic personnel directing drivers.

As well, parking on Clarke, between Queens and Elgin, will be maintained while the work is underway.
