This week, Coquitlam resident and former BC Lions kicker Lui Passaglia joined 35 other British Columbians honoured with a B.C. Community Achievement Award.

The former Canadian Football League all-star and multiple record-holder was feted at a ceremony in Victoria Wednesday presided over by deputy premier Kevin Falcon and B.C. Lieutenant-Governor Steven Point.

"These 36 individuals have helped shape our province into what it is today," said Falcon.

The awards are presented annually on behalf of the BC Achievement Foundation, an independent organization founded by the province and dedicated to celebrating excellence in the arts, humanities, enterprise and community service.
