A pedestrian is in hospital after being struck by a pick-up truck Tuesday morning.
The Port Coquitlam man was running across Cedar Drive, near Lincoln Avenue, in Port Coquitlam at about 9 a.m. when he was hit by a silver truck. The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk at the time.
"It was raining heavily...the weather may have played a role in this incident," said Sgt. Dave Fee of Coquitlam RCMP Traffic Services. "We interviewed a number of witnesses at the scene and would like to talk to anyone else who saw what happened."
The man was initially listed in critical condition but has since been upgraded to stable.
The pick-up truck driver has provided a statement and is co-operating with the investigation. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the incident.
