Photos: Curtain falls as contents of beloved Port Coquitlam dinner theatre head to auction

The auction will be held Thursday, March 23

The curtain has fallen on the Giggle Dam dinner theatre in downtown Port Coquitlam.

Closed in February because of a "business dispute," the comedy performance venue had generated laughs and good times for 21 years.

Today (March 22), its contents and fixtures were on display for buyers interested in participating in an online auction scheduled to run tomorrow (March 23).

The items, most of which are being sold in large lots, range from bar ware to musical instruments to thousands of empty beer cans and an entire wardrobe room filled with colourful costumes, shoes and even wigs.

Through the morning, a steady trickle of visitors wandered amidst the detritus in the darkened theatre.

Some reminisced about the good times they’d enjoyed there.

Some were former employees, and a few took careful measure of the items available for purchase.

The online auction takes place at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Able Auctions website. Interested buyers must be registered.
