Photos: Firefighters extinguish house blaze in southwest Coquitlam

Smoke was seen coming from the roof of a Dartmoor Drive home as crews worked to douse the flames.

Everyone appeared to be safe following a fire in Coquitlam's Essondale neighbourhood yesterday (March 8).

Around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, more than a dozen local firefighters from multiple halls responded to a house blaze on Dartmoor Drive.

One witness tells the Tri-City News no one appeared to be injured, but paramedics were on scene standing by.

Photos of the incident show smoke coming from the roof of a residence with firefighters needing to break through the outside wall and adjacent windows so it could be released into the air.

No other homes appeared to be impacted by the blaze, as well.

Smoke was also seen by bystanders and business owners in the industrial section of United Boulevard north of Highway 1.

The Tri-City News has reached out to Coquitlam Fire/Rescue for more information and will update this story when it becomes available.
