Photos: How the Tri-Cities honoured veterans, fallen soldiers on Nov. 11

Remembrance Day ceremonies were held at cenotaphs and landmarks across the region, placing wreaths to recognize those who served.

Thousands of Tri-Cities residents attended Remembrance Day ceremonies in their respective communities on Friday (Nov. 11).

And those that weren't able to watch in person honoured veterans and military members in their own way.

Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody hosted services around the 11th hour at a cenotaph or landmark, each including the laying of wreaths to pay respects to those that sacrificed their lives in conflicts throughout the past century.

Living veterans, members of local legions and elected officials spoke during the ceremonies.

In most communities, a moment of silence was held for two minutes following a playing of the last post at or around 11:11 a.m.

The City of Port Coquitlam livestreamed its Remembrance Day event on social media in providing an option for residents that couldn't get to the cenotaph in Veterans Park in person.
