A Coquitlam teen has died after a motorcycle accident on Saturday afternoon.

James Vo, a 17-year-old Grade 12 student at Pinetree secondary, was killed in the collision with a car at Pinetree Way and David Avenue at 5:30 p.m. as the car was making a left-hand turn.

Coquitlam RCMP say there is no indication drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision, which is still under investigation by the Coordinated Collision Investigation Team.
Police are reminding motorists to be alert for more motorcyclists on the road and for motorcyclists to use extreme caution.

Meanwhile, a friend of Vo's has set up an online fundraising page at gofundme.com/jamesvo for the teen's family "after a tragic loss doing what he loves, riding his motorcycle."

The site has collected more than $6,300 towards its $10,000 goal in two days.
