Port Coquitlam is looking for items to put in a time capsule, set to be buried next month as part of the city's centennial celebrations.
The capsule will be unearthed in 2038 and organizers hope to collect photographs, writing and art work that depicts the type of community PoCo is today.
A selection committee will choose the entries for the time capsule and winners will be posted on the city website by Oct. 10. Other entries will become part of a display in PoCo.
All entries should include the submitter's name, address, phone number and email and must be accompanied by an essay, video or powerpoint presentation explaining why their item should be selected.
Flat items, such as artwork may be no larger than 8.5 x 11 and digital items will also be accepted on USB drives or DVDs. Small items will be accepted but space in the capsule is limited.
Entries can be dropped off in person at the Heritage Centre at Leigh Square between Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 from 2 to 4 p.m. daily or at the Outlet front desk during regular business hours.
Digital entries can be uploaded at portcoquitlam.ca/timecapsule until Oct. 1.

POCO GUIDE
The city of Port Coquitlam has created a one-stop webpage that tells residents and visitors all they need to know about the municipality and its services.
The 32-page booklet will replace PoCo's annual report and is available at city hall and all municipal facilities. It can also be viewed at portcoquitlam.ca/guide.
"We wanted this new guide to be a useful tool that people can reference all year long," said PoCo Mayor Greg Moore. "It's part of our goal to improve customer services. We want to make sure the community knows what services are available to them and how they can have a say in the decisions that affect these services."
The booklet is intended to be a helpful resource for residents, businesses, visitors and investors. It includes information about recent city initiatives, PoCo's history, key statistics, volunteering, Traboulay PoCo Trail, services for businesses and living green.
It also outlines where tax dollars go and how to access city services, along with important contact information.
"As a city we're proud of our employees, and we wanted to highlight the people who work behind the scenes to provide our services and help make Port Coquitlam such a great place," said John Leeburn, the city's chief administrative office.
