PoCo wins finance award

The city of Port Coquitlam has received its sixth consecutive Canadian Award for Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association, one of 43 local governments to receive the recognition in Canada.

The city of Port Coquitlam has received its sixth consecutive Canadian Award for Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association, one of 43 local governments to receive the recognition in Canada.

The GFOA also gave the city its 14th Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the 2011 budget, along with a certificate of recognition to Mindy Smith, the city's director of corporate services.

The financial reporting recognition was given for the city's 2010 annual report, which gave an overview of PoCo's achievements, financial status and goals. The 2011 annual report is expected to be received by council in June.
