Police incidents over the weekend kept Coquitlam RCMP busy.
Several officers were sent to the Costco outlet in Port Coquitlam at about noon on Saturday after receiving a report of a man with a weapon, but investigators found nothing criminal.
At about 10:30 p.m. Sunday night an emotionally distressed man had police in a nearly five-hour standoff in Coquitlam after he barricaded himself in a home at Smith Avenue and Breslay Street.
A police negotiator resolved the situation several hours later and the man was taken into custody.
