Port Moody Police are asking for help in identifying a suspect who allegedly threatened a Shoppers Drug Mart employee with a syringe.
Officers responded to the drug store on St. Johns Street just before 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 28 after a man reportedly stole about $200 worth of perfume. The store's loss prevention officer tried to stop the man outside the store when he allegedly turned and threatened to stab the employee with the hypodermic needle he was holding.
The man then fled to the train tracks north of St. Johns.
He's described as a Caucasian man about 50 years old, weighing about 170 lb., with long grey hair in a ponytail and sores on his face; he was wearing a beige baseball cap, black Adidas backpack, a green/grey jacket and white pants.
The incident came just before another theft of perfume from the same Shoppers on Jan. 11, in which two men stole 17 bottles of perfume worth more than $900. One of the men used his toddler son's stroller to hide the stolen goods.
