A Port Coquitlam brewer took gold and two silvers in a national competition last month.

Boardwalk Brewing won the hardware at the 2023 Canada Beer Cup at an awards ceremony held on Oct. 25, 2023, in Niagara Falls, Ont.

The contest was hosted by the Canadian Craft Brewers Association.

Located at 2155-575 Seaborne Ave., Boardwalk picked up gold for its Palm Shade in the Gose category.

As well, it earned second spot for Dank You, in the IPA of 8.1 per cent or greater division, and for Black Forest in the Dunkel/Tmavý Ležák/Cerné Ležák/Schwarzbier/Black Lager field.

The champion cup went to Deadfall Brewing of Prince George for its Basal Brown in the American Style Brown Ale category.

Silver was presented to Blindman Brewing of Lacombe, Alta., for its Dwarf Sour Cherry Fruited Saison while bronze was awarded to the Nelson Brewing Company for its Loki Lager.

Started in 2021, Broadwalk earned silver from the 2023 Canadian Brewing Awards in Halifax in June for its Cotton Candy Belgian Red. The brewery is owned by Phil Saxe.
