A man sustained minor stab wounds after he foiled a robbery in progress at his home in Citadel Heights last weekend.
Coquitlam RCMP Cpl. Jamie Chung told The Tri-City News that the resident woke up to a noise at around 1:30 a.m. When he went to investigate what was going on, he found two men in his living room.
"Two individuals were already in his house," Chung said. "He defended himself."
The suspects, who got into the home through a ground-floor window, quickly fled the scene and investigators are now hoping that someone in the neighbourhood may have seen something.
Ordinarily, Chung said residents should not confront thieves when they have broken into a home. He added in this, the victim had a little choice.
"He just went to check on a noise and there they were," Chung said.
BRA THEFT
Two women are being sought by police after 45 bras worth $2,000 were stolen from a store in Coquitlam Centre on Sunday.
The incident happened on Dec. 1 at around 10 a.m., when two women walked into a store and started stuffing items into a bag before fleeing the scene.
Coquitlam RCMP Cpl. Jamie Chung said investigators are currently viewing surveillance footage from the mall to help identify the suspects.
