Port Coquitlam residents and businesses wanting to get or advertise a job can now turn to a city website.
Mayor Greg Moore said the PoCoWorks! community job board (portcoquitlam.ca/jobs) will allow PoCo residents to find work closer to home and help businesses find local staff.
"We think this is a great win-win for our community," he said at last week's council meeting.
As of Thursday, five private-sector jobs were posted to PoCoWorks! as well as a city opening.
The online site as well as BizAlley - a new business showcase to be held during next year's May Day Festival - were created by city staff who are being trained in the associate certificate in leadership program at BCIT.
BizAlley is being funded in part from the $10,000 the city received from its Open for Business Award, presented at the Union of BC Municipalities' conference in September.
