Port Coquitlam plans for rain

Rainy weather will not get in the way of Port Coquitlam's festivals and outdoor events this summer.

Rainy weather will not get in the way of Port Coquitlam's festivals and outdoor events this summer.

The city released protocols for what will happen should rainy weather occur during either the Music in the Park concerns or the Cinema Under the Stars screenings.

On rainy days music in the park, which is regularly scheduled every Sunday until Aug. 26 at Lions Park between 2 and 4 p.m., will take place at Leigh Square (Only exception is Aug. 19 - if there is rain on this day, the concert will simply be cancelled as Leigh Square is not available for use that day).

Those who are unsure about whether the show will be moved can visit the event's Facebook (www.facebook.com/leighsquare), which will be updated by noon on the day of the event.

Should bad weather occur before or during Cinema Under the Stars, the screening will be postponed to the following Friday.

The outdoor movie showings will take place every other Friday starting with a screening of Real Steel on July 27 at 9 p.m. at Gates Park.
