While Port Moody's first cannabis shop is scheduled to open Friday, Port Coquitlam’s only private pot retailer is turning the lights out at one of its stores due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Yesterday (Tuesday), burb announced it would temporarily close its express outlet at 2755 Lougheed Hwy. in a bid to protect the health and safety of staff and customers.

But burb’s flagship shop at 1502 Broadway St. will stay open during regular hours.

“Consolidation of our staff and resources to a single store [will] put hyper focus on maintaining a clean and safe environment,” the company wrote in a release March 17, noting it will also limit the number of shoppers and ask for contact-less payments.
