Registration for spring recreation and arts programs in Port Coquitlam is being offered to city residents first, beginning Feb. 27.

It’s not officially spring yet, but families looking to participate in recreation and arts programs in Port Coquitlam need to start thinking about the season ahead.

Registration for the city’s spring recreation programs and arts classes opens for residents on Feb. 27 at 8 a.m.

That's three days before general registration opens on March 1, also at 8 a.m.

Programs being offered include day camps being held on school professional development days, Little Sprockets cycling programs, swimming lessons, youth and seniors activities as well as fitness and arts classes.

Details about all the available activities, along with schedules and fees, are available in Port Coquitlam’s spring leisure guide and online.

Port Coquitlam started giving city residents first crack at registering for recreation and arts programs during the COVID-19 pandemic, while Coquitlam implemented priority registration last November.

Port Moody residents will get their opportunity to register first for programs in that city beginning in May.

The city will review the policy at the end of the year to determine if it should continue.
