A group of 28 women who frequent Curves on McAllister Avenue in Port Coquitlam are producing a theme calendar with nude photos of themselves with sale proceeds to go to Tri-City Transitions and a social development program for girls run by the Learning Disabilities Association.
The idea of baring it all started when the group challenged Curves in Port Alberni to a competitive food drive - and lost.
At first the women - aged 40 to 78 - were mortified, but after two brave souls who lost their breasts to cancer signed up, the rest joined in. "The women love that we are helping women and girls that are in Port Coquitlam," said Kim Blake who is organizing the calendar.
Classic White Photography has come on board but a printer willing to donate services is needed to keep costs down. To help out, call Blake at 604-944-1303 or email her at kcoss24@hotmail.com.
