The city of Port Coquitlam is updating its online look with a revamped website aimed at being easier for the public to navigate.

Pardeep Purewal, PoCo's manager of communications and administrative services, said staff has poured over website analytics to determine which aspects of the site are most popular with residents.

Features such recreation schedules and program signups will now be closer to the homepage, which will also increase connections with the city's social media presence.

"The navigation has changed to make it a bit more user-friendly," Purewal said. "It was needing a bit of a refresh."

The new website will also have a more prominent search function and a message button that will allow visitors to comment directly on the homepage.

A new calendar feature will also be added along with a link to Google translate, which will allow people to read the information presented in their preferred language.

The new look at www.portcoquitlam.ca is expected to launch at the end of the month.

The last time the website was revamped was in 2009.
