Port Moody cyclist killed in Burnaby

A Port Moody cyclist was killed Tuesday afternoon after colliding with an 18-wheel tractor-trailer at Sprott Street and Norland Avenue near Burnaby's 8-Rinks sports facility.

A Port Moody cyclist was killed Tuesday afternoon after colliding with an 18-wheel tractor-trailer at Sprott Street and Norland Avenue near Burnaby's 8-Rinks sports facility.

Andrew Evoy, 51, was transported to Royal Columbian Hospital with serious injuries but later went into cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

The truck driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Other witnesses were also interviewed to help determine how the collision occurred and anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to call 604-294-7922.
