A Port Moody family will get $1,000 a week for the next 25 years after scratching a winning lottery ticket.
Erich Schmidt and his wife bought the lucky Set for Life Scratch & Win at the Willowbrook Mall in Langley.
“It was simply timing,” Schmidt said in a news release. “I was going to have lunch in the food court at the mall but decided to buy my lottery tickets first. If I had lunch first, the outcome may have been different.”
That night, Schmidt’s wife scratched the ticket and woke her husband up with the good news.
They installed the Lotto! app on their phone to confirm the result; he collected the cash on his daughter’s birthday.
The family is now considering purchasing a house and taking a trip.
