Port Moody hires new city manager

The city of Port Moody has hired a new city manager.

The city of Port Moody has hired a new city manager.

Kevin Ramsay, a 30-year veteran of municipal government service, was previously employed as chief administrative officer at the District of Squamish and will fill the post vacated by Gaetan Royer last fall.

"Council is very pleased to welcome an individual who will complement and lead our existing team of exceptional employees through the next phase of the city's evolution," said Mayor Mike Clay in a press release. "We know that Mr. Ramsay shares our vision of ensuring our city maintains its character, charm and safety, while continuing to be the vibrant City of the Arts and the best place anyone could live."

Prior to working in Squamish Ramsay was employed by the city of Vanocuver, where he held the position of general manager of human resources. Prior to that he worked as the manager of waterworks, manager of streets, manager of sanitation and the director of emergency management.

Ramsay's job as Port Moody city manager will begin on June 4, 2012.
