Port Moody Police Department has recently joined in a regional team of elite officers.
The Emergency Response Team (ERT) is comprised of tactical officers, crisis negotiators and canine units with access to specialized weapons, equipment and tactics to resolve high-risk situations.
The Lower Mainland team is made up of officers from the RCMP as well as New Westminster, Delta and Port Moody police departments.
PMPD has also rejoined the regional Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT). In the last few years, Vancouver Police Department had handled PoMo homicide investigations.
