Port Moody is giving residents more time to pay their annual utility bill.

The city of Port Moody has extended the deadline for residents to pay their annual utility bill without a  penalty to Sept. 30, following similar moves by Port Coquitlam and Coquitlam.

The regular deadline is Feb. 28, after which overdue bills are assessed a 5% surcharge and missing a subsequent deadline of March 31 results in another 5% penalty.

Now, penalties will only be applied for payments made after Sept. 30.

Bills can be paid in several ways:

• Online by credit card at portmoody.ca/services.

• By telephone or online banking. Search “Port Moody,” select utilities and input your 5-digit account number.

• At your bank.

• By cheque, that can be dropped in the 24-hour finance drop box at the rear entrance to city hall. Make it payable to “City of Port Moody.”

• By mail, to City of Port Moody, 100 Newport Dr., Port Moody, B.C. V3H 5C3

Port Moody utility bills cover the annual cost of water and sewer services, recycling, green waste, glass and garbage collection.
