A 22-year-old Port Moody man is recovering after being shot multiple times in the back with a BB gun Wednesday afternoon.
Police said the victim and the suspect knew each other and got into an altercation in the Glenayre area at around 2:45 p.m. The suspect then followed the victim to his home and shot him multiple times before he could get inside to safety.
“The victim was subsequently transported by ambulance to hospital for treatment, as the BBs had penetrated the victim’s skin,” Const. Jason Maschke said. “The victim is expected to make a full recovery.”
Police have identified the suspect but have yet to lay charges. Maschke said the investigation is ongoing.
Witnesses in the neighbourhood reported seeing a large police presence in the area shortly after the incident occurred. PMPD said at the time on Twitter that the general public was not at risk.
Anyone with information is being asked to call the Port Moody Police Const. George Hunter at 604-461-3456.
