Port Moody police arrest man at bus stop after inappropriate advances to young female

The man was found to have court imposed conditions prohibiting contact with anyone under the age of 16.

Port Moody police arrested a man Thursday, Dec. 19, after he was reportedly making inappropriate sexual advances to a young female at a bus stop.

A man who was reportedly making inappropriate sexual advances towards a female youth as been arrested by Port Moody police (PMPD).

PMPD spokesperson Const. Sam Zacharias said officers were called to a bus stop near the Moody Centre SkyTrain station at about 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19.

The man was found to have court-imposed conditions not to communicate with anyone under the age of 16 and he was arrested.

Zacharias said the person who aided the youth and contacted police is to be commended, adding anyone with further information should contact Port Moody police at 604-461-3456.

The man remains in custody pending the forwarding of charges to Crown Counsel.
