Port Moody police made an arrest in Surrey Thursday, April 4 in relation to an alleged Craigslist robbery.

Port Moody police searched a Surrey residence yesterday, Thursday, in relation to a Craigslist-related robbery that occurred in PoMo earlier this year.

Armed with a search warrant, several members of the Port Moody Police Department’s Community Action Team (CAT), aided by members of the Lower Mainland Emergency Response team, entered a residence in the area of 168th Street near 31st Avenue in Surrey in the early morning hours of April 4.

Several occupants were detained and one person was arrested and is currently in police custody.

No further information is being released about the robbery but police are warning people to be careful when they buy or sell items using the online classified service.

Sgt. Brad Sheridan recommends that people meet in a public place, be accompanied by someone and to not let the item out of view, and especially don’t let a buyer take the item in their vehicle.

“If you feel uncomfortable, don’t make the transaction,” Sheridan warned.
