Port Moody police are asking the public for help as officers investigating a spree of tire-slashing reports.

Port Moody police (PMPD) are investigating a recent string of tire-slashing incidents believed to be connected to each other.

Earlier this week, eight vehicle owners filed reports to the local department in a span of 12 hours that their tires were damaged.

However, PMPD spokesperson Const. Sam Zacharias said there may be more victims who have yet to come forward.

The incidents took place in the areas of View Street and Highview Place between 9 p.m. Monday (Oct. 3) and 9 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 4).

Zacharias said all the vehicles involved were parked when the tire-slasher committed the crimes.

Investigators are now turning to the public for help for witness statements, dashcam, CCTV or video footage from the neighbourhoods in question.

Anyone with more information on these incidents is encouraged to call PMPD at 604-461-3456 and quote file-number 2022-5218.
