The Tri-Cities are in for a wet end to 2019 as a frontal system bears down on the south coast triggering a rainfall warning from Environment Canada.

The warning, which applies to all of Metro Vancouver, is expected to bring between 40 and 60 mm of rainfall, which could lead to localized flooding in low-lying areas, according to the Weather Network.

Heavy rain is forecast to taper off over New Year’s eve leading in to a 60% chance of showers for the first day of 2020.

Rain and showers are expected to continue throughout the week and into the weekend, with temperatures hovering between 7 and 11 C.
