A longtime Coquitlam resident who represented hundreds of her neighbours for years died last week of a heart attack.
Margaret Krenbrink was 81.
Krenbrink, who made Coquitlam her home since the early 1950s, was best known for her community work as the president of the Ranch Park residents' association.
Her daughter, Diana, said her mother was also an avid gardener and loved to crotchet. "Whenever somebody needed something, she was always there to help," Brown said. "She was giving and kind."
Krenbrink is survived by Brown, son Douglas, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
"She was one of our longtime council watchers," said Coquitlam Coun. Mae Reid, who was friends with Krenbrink for 30 years. "She will be sorely missed by all her friends and family."
A service will be held on Feb. 15 at 1 p.m. at Burkeview Chapel (1340 Dominion Ave., Port Coquitlam).
