A "farewell party" will be held this weekend for the late father of Port Coquitlam hometown hero Terry Fox.
The tribute to Rolly Fox will take place on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Terry Fox Theatre (1260 Riverwood Gate).
Fox died last week after being diagnosed in January with Stage 4 lung cancer. In his obituary, the family wrote Fox "was not devastated or bitter, accepted it quickly, fulfilling a promise to Terry of being strong and positive.
"It may have been his plan to give those around him these last few weeks a legion of memories to last a lifetime."
Fox is survived by his wife, Janet, three children, Fred, Darrell and Judith, three step-children, Gary, Stephen and Joanne, and nine grandchildren.
