Santa Claus will be leaving the reindeer at home tomorrow night (Saturday, Dec. 14) and will be riding a boat instead for a visit with children in Belcarra Regional Park.

The annual Christmas ships will be lit up, making a delightful display for local families, according to organizer Barry Wilson. The boats will be departing from Reed Point Marina at about 7 p.m. and then cruise through the inner harbour towards Belcarra.

Santa will disembark from the boat at approximately 7:30 p.m. to visit the children, gather signatures for his "great book."

A bonfire and hot chocolate is also planned.

Those who miss Saturday night's flotilla can watch the carol ships next Friday, Dec. 20 as they parade through Port Moody inlet from Reed Point towards Rocky Point Park and then on Saturday, Dec. 21, when the ships will be out again, cruising towards Vancouver's north shore, over towards Belcarra and back to Reed Point Marina.

In all cases the ships depart Reed Point Marina around 7 p.m.
