Search still on for PM manager

Port Moody city clerk Colleen Rohde will take over as acting city manager next week as the city continues its search for a suitable replacement for Gaetan Royer.

Port Moody city clerk Colleen Rohde will take over as acting city manager next week as the city continues its search for a suitable replacement for Gaetan Royer.

Rohde takes over from development services director Tim Savoie, who has been serving as the city's interim manager since Royer's departure late last month to take a job with Metro Vancouver.

Port Moody spokesperson Leslyn Johnson told The Tri-City News Tuesday that the city hasn't given itself a deadline for finding its new chief administrator but the city is reportedly now actively involved in that process.

City manager is the only job at city hall the requires a council vote to hire an individual. That means a new manager will not likely be confirmed until after council returns from its summer break on Sept. 13. Until then, the city manager's duties will be rotated among senior staff, Johnson said.
