Port Moody council will be completing its chapter-by-chapter review of the official community plan (OCP) on Monday, starting at 5 p.m.

The thorough look-through of the municipality's main planning document began Sept. 10 in a four-hour meeting. A new meeting date had to be found before the final Sept. 30 town hall meeting where public input will be sought.

The 231-page document provides overarching guidance to development decisions throughout the city.

The impact of the upcoming SkyTrain Evergreen Line arrival in the community has influenced several sections of the OCP, with specific mentions of transit-oriented development, which is a proposal to create denser neighbourhoods within a five- to 10-minute walk of Evergreen stations.

The OCP contains 17 chapters on everything from the community vision and goals and overall land use strategy, to arts and culture and heritage conservations.

There are also 15 maps which explore Port Moody's parks, open spaces and public facilities, plus bike routes, and steep slopes, in addition to five appendices.

The Sept. 30 meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the Inlet Theatre, 100 Newport Dr.
