Drivers crossing the Port Mann bridge to get to Coquitlam will have their own lane starting this weekend.
The new separated lane is for commuters heading west along Highway 1 and using Exit 44, the turnoff for the Tri-Cities.
The right-hand lane will begin at 152 Street in Surrey; and, this spring, a barrier will be up to permanently divide the lane from the rest of the bridge traffic.
The traffic pattern change is aimed at giving room for crews to align the new bridge for its final 10-lane width. A dedicated lane will also be available this spring for eastbound drivers to connect directly to Surrey.
