The search for a missing grandfather has shifted to southwest Coquitlam after exhaustive searches in all other areas of the Tri-Cities turned up no sign of Shin Noh.
His son Sam told The News Monday that people are now looking for his dad, who suffers from Alzheimer's, in areas where he used to frequent as a pastor of a Coquitlam church -around Lougheed Mall, Burquitlam, Maillardville, Austin Heights, Cape Horn and Ranch Park.
"He may be in southern Coquitlam," Noh said from his search and rescue headquarters at his Eagle Ridge Fitness business in Port Moody."He lived there and had a church there it would make sense to go up there," Noh said.
Although it's been almost two weeks since the elder Noh went missing while on a walk near his home near Glen Drive and Lansdown Drive in Coquitlam, volunteers are still very much committed to their search. Noh said he has been overwhelmed by the support from strangers, many of whom have been out on the streets all hours of the day and night to look for the Shin Noh.
"They have scoured the whole area," Noh said, plastering signs and posters all over buildings and cars.
By now the older man would have a salt and pepper beard and look tired and hungry, Noh said, unlike the clean-shaven grandpa that is featured in many photos.
Noh is also accepting advice from Coquitlam Search and Rescue that conducted searches in wooded areas and trails in the Port Moody and Burke Mountain areas, the latter because of a sighting involving construction workers.
On his website, Noh lists areas where he's asking people to search and a detailed account of what has taken place so far.
For example, Noh would like people to flood the areas of Burquitlam and Austin Heights with flyers and to talk to workers in areas and search for places where Noh may have taken shelter.
"There are so many of you out there on the roads and the trails searching for Shin. We are truly deeply moved by tremendous dedication, support and amazing love you have shown us. It is truly a testament of one body, community, humanity," Noh states on his website.
Meanwhile, the Coquitlam RCMP say they are still actively investigating every lead. "Hopefully we will come across a good one," Cpl. Jamie Chung said Tuesday.
At the time of his disappearance, Noh was wearing a plaid shirt and green pants. People who see someone matching his description should try and hold on to him and call 9-1-1, and quote file number #2013-27945
