Tri-City Rotary Clubs are supporting local food banks with the Generous Hearts Food Drive this weekend.
Shoppers at several local grocery store are encouraged to purchase a canned meat or vegetables, peanut butter or rice and give it to the Rotary member at the store this Saturday or Sunday.
This is the third annual food drive for Coquitlam, Coquitlam Sunrise, Port Moody and Port Coquitlam Rotary Clubs and the food is desperately needed to re-stock the food bank, which provides hampers for 800 Tri-City families every two weeks.
The following stores are participating and Rotary members will be on hand to collect food each day between noon and 6 p.m.:
Safeway, Sunwood Square, Coquitlam;
Safeway, Shaughnessy Station, Port Coquitlam;
Thrifty Foods, Austin Station, Coquitlam;
Thrifty Foods, Suter Brook, Port Moody;
Save-On-Foods, Pinetree Village, Coquitlam;
Save-On-Foods, 2385 Ottawa St., PoCo;
MarketPlace IGA, 1410 Parkway Blvd., Coquitlam;
