Geotechnical soil exploration will be conducted around Lafarge Lake in Coquitlam next week as the city works to determine the feasibility of constructing the facility.
According to a press release, detours will be set up as the construction crews conduct their work, which is scheduled to begin on March 16.
Coquitlam has announced plans to construct a performance and events plaza on the shores of Lafarge Lake, which would be used to host concerts and special events, like the Canada Day celebrations.
The plans show a terraced slope and concrete stage area on the east side of the lake with seating for between 100 and 1,000 spectators.
The project is expected to cost between $1 and $2 million.
