A women's event aimed at helping women live happier, healthier and more fulfilled lives came to Mandi Sellers in a dream. Now she's making it a reality.
She's created Glow: A Women's Evening of Change and Celebration, on June 1 at 6:30 p.m. at the Executive Inn Hotel in Coquitlam.
Emceeing the event will be Dr. Joti Samra, host of Oprah Winfrey Network's Million Dollar Neighbourhood, just renewed for a second season. Dr. Samra is also a psychological consultant for the upcoming first season of The Bachelor Canada.
According to Sellers, Glow is a combination of seminar, tradeshow and party, bringing together women who are seeking positive inspiration to change and improve their lives, while connecting with other women who want the same thing.
Dr. Samra also believes women should come together to support each other in becoming happier and more fulfilled.
"As human beings, we are social creatures. The amount of good-quality social supports we have in our lives makes us resilient to the inevitable stressors we will all face," Dr. Samra says. "An event like Glow, with its mix of inspiring speakers and fun party atmosphere, is a chance for women to stop juggling all of life's many demands for a few hours and focus some much-needed attention on themselves. It's a chance to reinvigorate and get inspired."
Glow's main sponsor is VanCity, an organization also led by a dynamic female leader, Tamara Vrooman. For more information, visit www.achieveradiance.com.
