Windows are boarded up at the 7-Eleven at 2929 St. Johns St. in Port Moody after someone crashed their van into the store on Tuesday (April 25).

It was business as usual at 7-Eleven at 2929 St. Johns Street today (April 28) despite a recent single-vehicle crash into the Port Moody convenience store.

Employees declined to comment on the incident that occurred on Tuesday (April 25) when a red van drove over the curb at Port Moody Centre and smashed into a store window.

But the window is still boarded up and there is caution tape next to the cashier desk, where three 7-Eleven staff were busily dealing with customers.

The crash was only a few feet away, however, no one in the store was hurt during the incident.

Only the driver of the van suffered minor injuries, according to Port Moody police spokesperson (PMPD) Const. Sam Zacharias, who confirmed the accident occurred at 12:35 p.m. on Tuesday.

The driver — who was the lone occupant of the vehicle — was treated for minor injuries and transported to hospital by paramedics as a precaution, according to Zacharias.

"Thankfully, no one else was hurt as a result of the collision," he said.

"Investigators believe driver error played a role in the collision."
