Stewart, Hodge on Metro board for Coquitlam

During Monday's meeting, council voted unanimously to appoint the pair, who will combine for a total of seven votes, to the regional board. Coun. Mae Reid will be Stewart's alternate while Coun. Dennis Marsden will substitute for Hodge.

Council also unanimously endorsed its recommendations to Metro for several committee appointments.

The city would like to see Coun. Bonita Zarrillo the Aboriginal relations committee while Hodge has been recommended to sit on parks and environment. Reid has been selected for the finance committee and Coun. Chris Wilson has been chosen for housing.

Council has also recommended that Mayor Stewart take part in the utilities and regional planning committees while Coun. Brent Asmundson would join the transportation committee and Marsden will sit on the zero waste committee

There were also several subcommittee appointment recommendations approved during Monday's Coquitlam council meeting, including Coun. Terry O'Neill for the regional culture subcommittee and Reid for the electoral area subcommittee.

The list will be forwarded to the Metro Vancouver chair for approval.
