A Coquitlam resident was fined $89,175 last week for not paying his federal taxes.

Robert Frederick Weicker pleaded guilty to tax evasion at Vancouver provincial court and was penalized 75% of the money he owed, according to a press release from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

The judge also handed Weicker a 15-month conditional sentence order, including 60 hours of community service work, and told to pay the fine in six months.

The release states Weiker failed to report taxable benefits from stock options, capital gains from the sale of shares and income from his corporation.
